COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The three days’ workshop will equip participants with relevant knowledge
and skills in promotion and marketing of their information services by
using web 2.0 tools and other technologies. The workshop also
familiarizes participants with different marketing strategies used
currently in libraries/ information centers.
COURSE CONTENTS:
Specifically the workshop will cover the following:
-Introduction to marketing & marketing strategies for promoting information services
-Introduction to web 2.0 technologies and marketing strategies and policies for information centers
- How to set up social media/ web 2.0 tools for marketing information
services: social network pages, social book marking, audio/video
podcasting, blogs and wiki
- How to create electronic marketing tools: multimedia files using movie-maker and online photo collections
- Embed multimedia and photo gallery to your Blog, and other social media for sharing
- Use of quick response (QR) code technology as a marketing tool
-Tools for generating Library Reports for Management feedback: Google Analytics & tracking site visitors and downloads
TARGET GROUP:
Professionals involved in information management, institutional
management, librarians, information scientists, researchers,
postgraduate students, lecturers, project administrators, ICT
professionals and any other professionals working with cutting edge
technologies.
WORKSHOP DATES AND VENUE:
The workshop will be conducted from Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th July,
2016 (3 days) at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences
Library - ICT LAB
WORKSHOP FEE:
The workshop fee is TZS 350,000/= per each participant covering the
course fee, stationery, refreshments and certificates. Participants are
requested to arrange transport and accommodation at their own cost.
FACILITATORS:
The course will be facilitated by experienced subject and educational
specialists from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences.

Payment is due before start of workshop. Payment can be made through the
institutional bank account at any National Microfinance Bank (NMB)

The Access to Research for Development and Innovation (ARDI) database has been restored
The Access to Research for Development and Innovation (ARDI) database, administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization in collaboration with major publishers is now available at MUHAS.
By improving access to scholarly literature from diverse fields of science and technology, ARDI seeks to:
- reinforce the capacity of developing countries to participate in the global knowledge economy; and
- support researchers in developing countries in creating and developing new solutions to technical challenges faced on a local and global level.
Through ARDI, our institution can benefit by accessing up to 20,000 journals, books, and reference works for 117 from diverse fields of science and technology
