WORKSHOP ON MARKETING AND PROMOTION OF INFORMATION SERVICES, APPLICATION OF WEB 2.0 TOOLS AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES
The Directorate of
Library Services (DLS) is planning to conduct a workshop on Marketing and
Promotion of Information services application of Web 2.0 Tools and other
Technologies. This workshop will equip participants with relevant knowledge and
skills in promotion and marketing of their information services by using web
2.0 tools and other technologies. The workshop also familiarizes participants
with different strategies used currently in Libraries/information centers.
The workshop will be
conducted from Tuesday 27th
to Thursday 29th June, 2017 at MUHAS Library ICT Lab.
The workshop will cover
the following:

Introduction to
marketing & marketing strategies for promoting information services

Introduction to web 2.0 technologies and
marketing strategies and policies for information centers

How to set up web 2.0
tools for marketing information services: social network pages, social book
marking, audio/video podcasting, blogs and wiki

How to create
electronic marketing tools: multimedia files using movie-maker and online photo
collections
·
Embed multimedia and
photo gallery to your Blog, and other
social media for sharing

Use of quick response
(QR) code technology as a marketing tool
·

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The School of Public Health and Social Sciences in collaboration with Directorate of Library Services, and Africa Academy of Public Health are planning the first short course in Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis for members of academic staff. The aim of this short course is to provide members of academic staff in MUHAS with necessary hands-on skills to conduct systematic review.
REQUIREMENTS
This short course targets academic staff of all schools in Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. Junior faculties are highly encouraged to apply. Application and attendance is free and is inclusive of lunch but commitment to complete this one-week course is a pre-requisite. To maximize the productivity, participants are encouraged to have research ideas that they wish to work on in groups.
DELIVERABLE
The one-week course will have the selected protocols registered and published in a selected systematic review database (CRD-PROSPERO).
Following registration of the protocols, facilitators will continue to guide the review process by teams through publication of the systematic reviews within agreeable timeline.
