A Call for the Workshop on Reference Management and Literature Citation {25th April 2018}.
The
Directorate of Library Services (DLS) is planning to conduct a training
workshop on reference management and literature citation to
Postgraduate students on Wednesday 25thApril, 2018 at the Library Computer Lab from 2pm to 5pm.
The Directorate of Library Services is pleased to invite all MUHAS Postgraduate students
to attend the the training. Participating
students are required to bring their own laptops during the training
session.
The following topics will be covered:
- Introduction to Reference Management
- Reference Styles
- Creation of Reference Management Library Using Mendeley Software
- Management of References through Mendeley software
- Citing while Writing
- Sharing of References and Creation of Online Profiles

Participants Praise MUHAS Library for Conducting Koha ILMS Training that will help to Transform Libraries
Earlier this week (March 26th - 28th, 2018) Muhas Library conducted the training on using KOHA Software. The training involved more than 30 participants who are Librarians and System Administrators from different institutions and libraries across Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar namely; The Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA), The Institute of Social Work (Dsm), Water Institute (Dsm), Bunge Library (Dodoma), The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Zanzibar, The St. John's University of Tanzania (Dodoma), The Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment (Dodoma), The Prime Minister Office (Dodoma), Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST), Community Development Training Institute (Ruaha CDTI), Arusha Technical College, The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) - Bugando, Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD), Buhare Community Development Training Institute (Buhare CDTI) and MUHAS.
Speaking the words of thanks on behalf of fellow participants before being awarded Training Certificates, both Mr. Emil N. Malisha (The Network Administrator from CUHAS, Bungando - Mwanza) and Ms. Zainab Mvita Juma (From The State University of Zanzibar - SUZA) acknowledged and praised MUHAS Library for conducting time-to-time library training's that aims to equip librarians and libraries on adopting the use of ICT in provisions of its services. They also praised the KOHA ILMS facilitators for sharing to them the knowledge and skills on the use of Koha in Libraries and Information Centres and assuring that with the three days training they have attended, now they are able to go and implement using Koha software to their mother libraries as they are able to manage it.
