A Workshop on Online Reference Management and Advanced Searches 19th – 20th November 2012 - MUHAS

Once again, the Directorate of Library Services will organize a Two Days workshop on Online Reference Management and Advanced Searches. The workshop will be conducted at the MUHAS, Undergraduate Computer Lab from 19th to 20th November, 2012 (10 am to 3.30 pm).

The library is inviting Academic Staff from MUHAS to attend the workshop by submitting their details to the undersigned by close of Friday 16th November 2012 business.

Kindly, circulate this announcement to all academic staff. 25 participants will be accepted for the workshop. Therefore, earlier registration for the workshop is encouraged.
Programme of the training
•    Online reference and citation management by using free and open source software called Mendeley
•    Search Magic: How to conduct advanced multilingual online searches
•    Search abstract and citation databases including Scopus,  other academic databases: CABI, HINARI, AGORA
•    Search Free Online journals, books, such as DOAJ, OpenDoar, Free medical journals etc

Entitlements: During the event, the organisers will provide out of pocket allowance, lunch and refreshments. Participation in the workshop is free of charge. 25 participants will be accepted for the event.

Apply for AFRIKA KOMMT!" ("AFRICA IS COMING!") - Germany, 2013

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany would like to inform you about the initiative "AFRIKA KOMMT!" ("AFRICA IS COMING!") which was called into being by 19 leading German enterprises for capacity buidling by German industry. 

The programme aims at highly qualified young professionals and junior executives from countries in Sub-Saharan Africa with several years of hands-on work experience, strong leadership qualities and a very high level of commitment and dedication.

For further information, please refer to the attached programme description. Applications will be accepted until 15 December 2012 only and must be submitted through the online application form.
