A CALL FOR WORKSHOP ON SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS AND META-ANALYSIS


SUPPORTED BY ITOCA, CORNELL UNIVERSITY AND CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY; MUHAS LIBRARY

MAIN OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this workshop is to equip participants with necessary hands-on skills to conduct systematic review and Meta analysis

DATE AND VENUE
v  5th to 9th FEB. 2018
v  MUHAS, Library Computer lab,
v  Time: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
TOPICS TO BE COVERED
Ø  Systematic Reviews process, related methods and protocol development
Ø  Identifying databases and sources of grey literature
Ø  Tools and resources for accessing the full text of articles
Ø  Developing complex and comprehensive search in Pub med
Ø  Covidence for managing the systematic review process
Ø  Quality assessment, risk of bias and meta-analysis for systematic reviews

ATTENDANCE
Attendance is free for MUHAS staff and students. Participants from outside MUHAS will have to pay Tshs 350,000/= as participation fees.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
v  Academic staff of all schools at MUHAS. (Junior faculties are highly encouraged attend)
v  MUHAS MSc by research & Doctoral students

Ø  Carnegie  Mellon University, USA and
Ø  Cornel University in USA

FIRST MUHAS LIBRARY SYMPOSIUM CONDUCTED ON 5TH DECEMBER 2017

The Directorate of Library Service conducted its first symposium on 5th December 2017 at the 24 room located at library building starting from on 2:00Pm to 4:50pm
The event was mainly meant for all first year students, though continuing students, postgraduate and faculty staffs were also invited to attend the event.  

 The objectives of this event were to create awareness of e-resources and enhancing usage of e-resources at MUHAS. This lessons  were delivered  by Dr. Mboni Ruzegea and Mr. Deodatus Sabas through presentation and demonstrations.

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN A SYMPOSIUM ON ACCESSIBILITY AND USAGE OF MEDICAL & HEALTH RELATED ELECTRONIC RESOURCES

DATES: WEDNESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2017

TIME:  FROM 02PM-04 PM AFTERNOON.


The Directorate of Library Service is pleased to announce its 1st symposium on “Accessibility and usage of medical & health related electronic resources” to be held on 29th of November 2017 at the Library 24hrs Hall.

This 2 hour event will be highlighted by a presentation and demonstration on how to access and use e-resources from the Library Online Access Catalogue (OPAC), the Institutional repository and from the subscribed and open source databases available on the MUHAS library website.

This Symposium is intended for students (both undergraduates and postgraduates) but is also open to those who are interested from the schools and directorates.
